Fundraiser/June Membership Meeting

On Wednesday June 28th we will have a fundraiser day at Cenci's Pizza at their Cranberry location -1686 Rt.228 RM150 Cranberry Twp., PA 16066. All day long if you mention you are dining to support the football players and cheerleaders of SVJFAC we will receive 15% of our sales back for that day. Dine in or carry out qualifies!

Our June Gerneral Membership Meeting will also be held at Cenci's at 7pm that evening. Come in, grab dinner and stay to find out what is going on in SVJFAC!

Heads Up Pittsburgh 2017

Heads UP Pittsburgh 2017 Registration is Now Open!

UPMC Sports Medicine, The Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation, Community College of Allegheny County, and Community College of Beaver County are pleased to announce the Heads Up Pittsburgh Program for the Summer of 2017. In addition to our main program, we are excited to add limited dates in Greensburg,PA and Erie,PA over the coming weeks for our 2017 program. If you previously registered, we thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you soon. If you did not register yet, space is still available to get your test completed and we encourage you to register early! Registration is now open for Individuals and ATHLETES OF ANY SPORT. PLEASE take a moment to read the specifics of the program below:

* Individuals ages 7-14 can test for FREE.

* Individuals ages 15 and over (including adults) can test for a nominal fee of $25.00

* All test takers must be at least 7 years of age for pediatric testing session or 10 years of age for adult sessions on the date of the test to participate. No Exceptions.

* The LAST DATE of testing will be July 28. Please register early to assure your seat as there will not be any sessions added later in the summer.

* Pediatric Testing (ages 7-9) will only take place at the Rooney and Lemieux Sports Complexes. Adult Testing (ages 10+) will take place at all of our locations.

* The first 3,000 athletes will receive a FREE 9” Pilates Ball in addition to the baseline test.

* First-time participants will receive a neck strength kit and balance disc.

* Individuals ages 7 - 12 should have a new baseline every year. Individuals over the age of 13 and adults should have a new baseline every 2 years.


No Phone Registrations will be accepted. Please utilize the online scheduling system using the links provided in this email.

2017 Raider Pride Football Camp

The Seneca Valley Coaching Staff and SV Varsity Players will be holding this Raider Pride Camp. 

This camp is opened to all kids who are entering grades 3,4,5,6,7 and 8. 

We will be featuring Non-contact, individualized instruction of fundamental football skills at all positions. Player will be grouped according to age for all drills. 

Requirements: Players should wear football cleats or tennis shoes, shorts or sweatpants and T-shirt. 

Campers will be responsible for all items he/she bring to camp. 

Drink and a snack will be provided.

*NEW SVJFAC Scholarship Program

NEW 2017 SVJFAC SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM!

SVJFAC is pleased to announce the 1st annual SVJFAC Alumni Scholarship, available to students entering college in the fall of 2017.  

Two $500 scholarships are available:

·         $500 Scholarship to Graduating Senior who participated in SVJFAC Cheer

·         $500 Scholarship to Graduating Senior who participated in SVJFAC Football

Eligibility

·         Students must have participated for a minimum of 1 full season in the SVJFAC Cheer or Football Program as a youth

·         Student must be accepted to a College or University with plans to attend in Fall 2017

·         Student must have a 3.0 GPA or better.

·         Student must attend Seneca Valley Senior High School

While ongoing participation in cheer/dance team or football through high school will be considered a plus, we encourage ALL eligible SVJFAC alumni to apply.

Requirements

·         An acceptance letter from a school within the United States 

·         A typed summary letter, addressed to the SVJFAC Board of Directors, to include the following information:

o           Applicant Name, Address, Phone Number, and Email Address

o           Year or Range of Years participating in SVJFAC

o           Summary of Applicant’s Previous and Current Community Service Work/involvement

o           Did you continue to participate in cheer, including dance team, or football in high school? Please explain.

o           In no more than 500 words, please explain: What did your time participating in SVJFAC mean to you? 

Award

·         Applications will be reviewed by the SVJFAC Board of Directors who will vote to select each scholarship winner from the pool of applicants

·         Each Scholarship is intended to be used exclusively for school tuition and related expenses

·         A check for $500 will be made payable to the award recipient directly to cover these expenses

·         Scholarship award recipient will be notified of the selection on or about July 31, 2017

Deadline

Applications must be submitted electronically no later than July 1, 2017

Submission Instructions

·         A scanned college acceptance letter, proof of meeting GPA requirements, and typed summary letter should be emailed no later than July 1, 2017.  

·         The Subject of the email should be:  SVJFAC Scholarship Application
