PLEASE SEE 2017 DATES BELOW FOR ORIENTATION, TRYOUTS, AND UNIFORM FITTINGS.

 

Tryouts - All registered cheerleaders are required to attend tryouts.   

K-2nd Grade:

 

May 2nd & May 3rd, 2017- We will hold orientation for all registered cheerleaders entering K-2nd Grade for 2 nights from 6-8pm at Rowan Elementary School.  This 2 day session will provide our young cheerleaders the opportunity to meet other cheerleaders and to learn cheers, jumps, and a dance.  Please ensure your cheerleader is dressed appropriately (no denim) with tennis shoes and hair pulled back.  Cheerleaders should bring a water bottle with them.  Parents are permitted to stay on-site, however will not be permitted to stay in the practice area.  Parents will be invited to see what their cheerleader learned on the last day.

3rd-5th Grade:

May 15th - May 18th, 2017- We will hold tryouts for cheerleaders entering 3rd-5th Grades for 4 nights from 6-8pm at Rowan Elementary.  All registered cheerleaders are required to attend regardless if trying out for the competitive squad or not.  Parents will be required to sign a waiver if their daughter will be trying out for the competitive squad.  During the first 3 days, the cheerleaders will be learning cheers and a dance routine.  Day 4 will be tryouts.  Cheerleaders will arrive at 5:30 p.m. to pull a number for tryouts.  Cheerleaders will perform what they learned for a panel of judges.  Parents are not permitted to watch practice and/or tryouts. 

Please ensure your cheerleader is dressed appropriately (no denim) with tennis shoes and hair pulled back during the first 3 days.  Shorts, yoga pants, t-shirts, tanks, etc. 

Cheerleaders will be required to wear plain black shorts, a solid white t-shirt and mostly white tennis shoes on day 4 for tryouts (white piping on shorts or small Justice symbol is fine).  Hair should be neatly and securely pulled back with a black ponytail holder, NO hair bows or headbands. No nail polish or make-up. 

6th-8th Grade:

Uniform Fitting -  NEW uniform and apparel fittings will take place May 20, 2017 starting at noon. All cheerleaders and mascots MUST attended one of the fittings.  Each group will have a specific time to report.   A $200 deposit is required for the uniform and poms.  The check will not be cashed, but returned to you if the uniform and poms are returned in the condition received.  Mandatory and optional apparel will also be purchased at this time.  Multiple checks will be required, to include $150 for cheerleaders on competitive squads.  Raffle tickets will also be distributed to each family, $125.  Please make all checks payable to SVJFAC.
